Double Chocolate Banana Bread

Ingredients

• 156g (1¼ cups) flour
• 41g (½ cup) natural cocoa powder
• 1 tsp baking soda
• ½ tsp salt
• 135g (¾ cup) chocolate chips
• 22g (2 tbsp) chocolate chips, for topping
• 113g (½ cup) butter, softened
• 150g (¾ cup) sugar
• 2 large eggs, room temperature
• 60g (¼ cup) yogurt
• 2 mashed bananas
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 2 tbsp hot water

Steps

1. 1Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
2. 2Cream the 113g (½ cup) butter and 150g (¾ cup) sugar together by hand with a whisk until smooth.
3. 3Whisk in the 2 eggs.
4. 4Whisk in the 60g (¼ cup) yogurt, 1 tsp vanilla extract, and 2 mashed bananas until combined.
5. 5Add the dry ingredients — 156g (1¼ cups) flour, 41g (½ cup) cocoa powder, 1 tsp baking soda, ½ tsp salt — along with 2 tbsp hot water. Whisk until just combined. The batter will be thick — don't overmix.
6. 6Fold in 135g (¾ cup) chocolate chips.
7. 7Pour into the pan. Sprinkle the remaining 22g (2 tbsp) chocolate chips on top.
8. 8Bake for 60–65 minutes, covering loosely with foil halfway through. It's done when a toothpick comes out with just a few moist crumbs.
