Ingredients

Chicken marinade

750g (1⅔ lbs) chicken
½ cup (120g) yoghurt
¼ cup (60g) cream
½ tsp garlic paste
Salt, to taste
1 tsp black pepper
½ tsp white pepper (optional)
¼ tsp red chilli powder

White sauce

3-4 tbsp oil
3 tbsp flour
3 cups (720g) milk
Salt, to taste
1 tsp black pepper
1 chicken stock cube

Assembly

Cheese, for topping
Chilli flakes, for topping

Steps

Chicken

1Mix the 750g (1⅔ lbs) chicken with ½ cup (120g) yoghurt, ¼ cup (60g) cream, ½ tsp garlic paste, salt, 1 tsp black pepper, ½ tsp white pepper, and ¼ tsp red chilli powder. Let it marinate while you make the sauce.
2Heat some oil in a frying pan and cook the marinated chicken for 20 minutes.

White sauce

3Heat 3-4 tbsp oil in a pan and add the 3 tbsp flour. Let it turn golden and aromatic.
4Add the 3 cups (720g) milk in small increments while whisking the whole time — don't stop whisking or you'll get lumps. Let it thicken to your desired consistency.
5Stir in the crushed 1 chicken stock cube, salt, and 1 tsp black pepper. Sauce is ready.

Assemble

6Add the white sauce to the cooked chicken.
7Top with cheese and chilli flakes, and cover with a lid.
8Let it simmer for 10 minutes until the cheese melts.
